About Miss Ellie

Head of Dance and Costume

Miss Ellie studied for her dance teaching qualifications at the Roynon School of Dance in Southampton under the guidance of Virginia Wilkinson. She has her DDI (diploma in dance instruction) and her DDE (diploma in dance education) in Ballet, Tap and Modern. Miss Ellie also achieved her DDI and DDE Classical Greek examinations under the tuition of Kay Ball and Carol Vasko. Although the above qualifications enable Miss Ellie to enter students for examinations, she also enjoys developing herself as a dance and a teacher ‘beyond the syllabus’. She has traveled extensively to take workshops with professional teachers all over the world and is proud to bring an extensive wealth of knowledge to her classes. Miss Ellie has been teaching for 12 years and loves teaching all ages from 3 through to adult. Miss Ellie has her Grade 8 Piano and singing exams and her Grade 7 Flute. Although she reduced her music playing to concentrate on the dance school, the combination of both dance and music is extremely important in her teaching.
Miss Ellie plays in the local band ‘The Ukuladeez’ and loves cooking, travelling and swimming in the sea.
